Helix Team Pilot:

Tom Dorlodot

Thomas de Dorlodot is a world-renowned adventure pilot, professional Red Bull athlete, and one of the most experienced paramotor explorers on the planet. Based in Brussels, Belgium, Thomas took his first flight at age 14—on a self-built paramotor made from second-hand parts—and has been chasing the horizon ever since.

Known for his creative, high-stakes flying style that blends cross-country exploration, freestyle, and acro, Thomas has spent the past two decades using paramotoring as a tool to document remote places, tell stories, and inspire global audiences. He’s the founder of the SEARCH Projects, a series of multidisciplinary expeditions combining flying, sailing, environmental awareness, and visual storytelling.

Some of his career highlights include:

  • Flying solo from Brussels to Istanbul across 10 countries in just 26 days
  • Reaching over 7,000 meters in Pakistan’s Karakoram range—one of the highest paramotor flights ever recorded
  • Leading a trans-African crossing by paramotor, scouting unforgettable flying locations
  • Performing acro demos at major Red Bull events across Europe
  • Hosting Explore, a TV series on Belgian national television

In addition to his athletic pursuits, Thomas is a project developer for a paragliding brand, a keynote speaker, and a full-time content creator fluent in five languages. He’s proudly flown Helix propellers for over 20 years—through deserts, over mountains, and into the unknown.

“When you’re flying in remote places or pushing gear at high altitudes, you need something you can trust. Helix is that brand.”

Thomas currently flies the Vittorazi Moster 185 and ATOM engines on PAP frames, and is sponsored by Advance, Vittorazi, and PAP. Whether filming from the air, sharing stories on stage, or soaring above the world’s most stunning landscapes, he continues to redefine what’s possible in adventure flying.
