Helix Carbon Fiber Propellers

Helix Team Pilot:

Adam Chappell

At 32 years old, Adam Chappell has built a life centered around flight, freedom, and pushing limits. Based in Ottawa, he is a paragliding instructor, SIV coach, and high-level acro paramotor pilot known for his dedication to advanced aerial maneuvers. While he doesn’t pursue formal competitions, Adam has gained wide recognition in the Canadian paragliding and paramotor communities for his technical mastery and relentless passion for flight.

Flying under the name @Acro_Adam, he shares his acrobatic progression on social media, inspiring others through videos of infinity tumbles, helis, and the precision control that defines modern acro. His journey began in 2018 after watching Jean-Baptiste Chandelier’s film Weightless, which sparked a deep fascination with the artistic and athletic potential of paragliding.

A former Canadian whitewater champion, Adam has always chased challenge and intensity. With paragliding and paramotoring, he found something even more profound: a source of true freedom, focus, and personal growth. His early commitment to SIV and safety training reflects his belief that understanding the limits is the key to pushing them.

Adam initially got into paramotoring to overcome the limitations of flat terrain and train acro year-round without constant travel. He’s also an avid skydiver and BASE jumper — and is slowly working toward powered aircraft flying as he continues exploring every angle of human flight.

When it comes to gear, Adam is known for his demanding standards. As he puts it:

“I’m not easy on gear. I break everything. I go hard. Helix builds the most solid carbon props out there — they perform like carbon should, but they’re built to last. Nothing else I’ve tried even comes close.”

Adam flies Helix propellers on setups including the Vittorazi Moster Factory R and Sky Ares 260, relying on their durability and performance in aggressive freestyle environments, where impacts from foot drags or rough takeoffs are common.

Whether he’s performing at events, guiding pilots through fear in SIV courses, or training solo in Canadian winters, Adam is always moving forward — redefining his own limits and encouraging others to do the same.
